I am a career rehabilitation scientist with a clinical background in physical therapy. I am currently an Associate Professor of Physical Therapy and a faculty of the Interdisciplinary Health Science PhD program at University of Nevada, Las Vegas. My research focus is on improving the process and outcomes of post-amputation rehabilitation. Specifically, my studies address the scientific bases underlying effective motor recovery and how different factors affect functional and health outcomes in individuals with lower limb amputation. To date, I have authored more than 40 peer-reviewed scientific papers in the area of medical rehabilitation and biomechanics research. My research is supported by the NIH (NICHD/NCMRR [National Center for Medical Rehabilitation Research]) and the Department of Defense. I also serve as the Research Committee Chair for the Academy of Amputation and Limb Difference Physical Therapy.
