Access Wound Care
Tony Merschdorf, the Chief of Business Development at Access Wound Care for over 10 years, holds a certification as a Wound Care Sales Professional and attained the rank of Captain in the US Air Force. Tony has extensive experience in industry as well on the patient side having multiple surgical wounds from about 10 surgeries. With respect to wound care, his 6 years of making soap, tweaking recipes and teaching others to make it helps him understand the chemistry behind breaking up biofilm and clearing bioburden. Outside of work Tony volunteers in several areas including a monthly food bank distribution, summer weekends spent in the mountains building and maintaining trails and splitting firewood to help low-income families stay warm. The young man he has mentored since 10th grade just started school to become an ENT in hopes of moving on to medical school someday. Most rewardingly, Tony has worked with kids at a local domestic violence shelter for the past 13 years including playing Santa annually (he’s currently growing out the beard for this year’s Christmas party). He’s a regular blood donor and has given around 10 gallons so far. Hobbies include weightlifting, backpacking, cycling and recreational lumberjacking. Finally, much to the chagrin of those closest to him, he enjoys sharing worthless trivia. Please come by the Access Wound Care booth to discuss how BioBlock™ uses multiple mechanisms to destroy biofilm and support healing (or any of the other subjects listed above).
