Conducting nutrition assessments are very important in the wound healing process, as it gives the provider a good overview on the patients wound healing status. If poor nutrition is presents, wound healing may be delayed and impair wound strength. It is important to screen every patient for malnutrition, macro and micronutrients deficiencies, as treating/preventing any deficiencies will provide a good foundation for optimal wound healing. You will be provided with a step-by-step guide on how to screen and treat your patients with nutrition risk factors. We will review what nutrition challenges patients may face at home and how to address them individually. Lastly, bring all your nutrition related questions and challenges as I will have a live Q&A for the second half of the session to help address any real-life challenges you may be facing at your hospital/clinic, whether it be with your team/providers and/or patients with achieving nutrition goals.
